iTrello.com User FAQ

How can you offer free hosting accounts?

iTrello hosting accounts are completely free for users, but they are ad supported. That means each user account has ad banners on their pages. Banners can be removed for a one time fee, see details here.

What if I don't have a domain name?

Free hosting accounts come with a free subdomain based on your selected username, e.g. username.itrello.com

I already have a domain, can I still get free hosting?

Yes. During step 2 of the registration process, you will be asked to enter your existing domain name.

Can I use my hosting account for anything I want?

iTrello does not tolerate adult content or spam (such as splogs) in our free hosting accounts. We monitor accounts on a regular basis and delete *without warning* any accounts in violation of these terms.

What applications come with my hosting account?

Each account comes with a control panel that that makes it easy to install any of the following applications: Joomla, ZenCart, wordpress, Mambo, coppermine, tikiwiki, osCommerce, gallery, Xoops, MyLittleForum, bBlog, UseBB, phpBB2, sBlog, wikiwig, cutenews, MyBB, SMF, Nucleus, 4images. In addition, you have FTP access to upload and install other web applications as needed.

What support options are available?

iTrello hosting users get free support via ticket system. Users are also encouraged to seek help, and help others, on our new free hosting support forums.

What is the MySQL Database Hostname for my account?

All iTrello accounts should use localhost as the database hostname.

I am trying to install a PHP script and it says that 'safe_mode is on but needs to be off'. What is this and what can I do about it?

PHP safe_mode is a feature which is made to allow many people to host on the same server system without them being able to read/write system files or files of other users. In the current version of this free hosting site it is required to be ON to protect the server, however it is possible for the admin to switch it off on a per-user basis. Please contact the administrator for further information about this.

I created my account (subdomain) and I entered an 'extra domain' (domain), how do I change my pages via FTP on both of these?

Subdomain + domain are the same accounts, so if you have a user; 'testuser' and a freehost
domain 'freehost.com', your subdomain is;

testuser.freehost.com

If you choose an extra domain, for instance 'extradomain.com', you will have two domains
your site can be reached by;

testuser.freehost.com
extradomain.com

They both point to the same files. If you want to FTP there, you run;

ftp testuser.freehost.com

Login with your user panel login details (you chose when you registered) and change the
files. Both domains will show the same changes.
